Guide to protect your property & Save you MONEY
One of the most asked questions we get from customers relates to the ” high cost of tree care”.
Very few customers consider how much is involved in removing or trimming trees, so let’s take a moment to analyze the costs and if they are reasonable costs given the work & risk involved.any real tree removal company has at a minimum a special chip truck. Cost from $20,000 to $50,000.
Generally that same truck pulls a large chipper to the job site. As a general rule the chipper will cost between$35,000 and $100,000.
Most professional tree companies have a small to medium man lift so spiking your trees is not necessary which will benefit the tree greatly if it only being trimmed and not removed. Cost of the man lift is likely to cost from $22,000 to $90,000.
The lift, if is towable, will require a small truck or SUV to move it around your job site. Most likely we are expecting the cost to be between $25,000 and $40,000.
Most often there is the problem of loading the big wood into a dump truck or dump trailer. A dump trailer is more economical that a truck. The cost for a heavy duty dump trailer is about $9,000 to $30,000.
Most tree contractors I know, myself included, have between 15 and 20 Stihl chain saws, gas cans, big fuel tanks, safety gear, blowers, ropes and other small tools that total to about $10,000 to $25,000.
Advertising, promotions, phone service some office space some where and insurance, costs at least $2,000 per month and more likely $4,500 per month.
Now to the BIG expense! Labor! In general, in Marion county Florida, real true experienced Arborists cost the tree company about $15 to $30.00 per hour…plus 38% for taxes.
Most crews in this part of Florida are three man crews. Each load of cut or trimmed trees must be disposed of at a cost of $375 to $800.
A tree company, right here in BRICK CITY, can easily have $250,000 of equipment working in your yard and paying out $600 per day in just labor. Now if you consider all the other costs to the tree company involved in your $400 Palm tree trim its a pretty good deal.
Perhaps now that reality is a little clearer you, as a home owner, will understand why it is so important that you are prepared for a minimum trip charge.
